SoundSoap is consumer-friendly software that solves audio noise problems like unwanted hiss and background noises, clicks, pops, crackles, electrical hum, rumble, clipping, and low volume in media files. San Rafael, CA - JanuAudio technology company Soundness is pleased to announce availability of version 5 of the award-winning SoundSoap audio noise reduction software for Mac and Windows. New Version includes Automatic Noise Detection and More Selecting a region changes the language and/or content on IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SoundSoap 5 - New Version includes Automatic Noise Detection and More A properly arranged room will go a long way toward creating a great-sounding mix. “The room that you’re in is an extension of the sound that your speakers will be putting out.” Where your speakers are relative to each other and the rest of the room matters. ![]() “How good your studio is going to sound is only as good as the room that you’re in,” says audio engineer Gus Berry. The physical space where you’re mixing music can make a huge difference in the final product. “As you start figuring out what the important elements in a song are, you can put together a rough balance of where you think things should be - how instruments are functioning in the song and how they ought to interact with each other.”ĭo: Mind your home studio speaker/room combination. But remember, a good rule of thumb is that a good mix brings to the fore what is already present.Īudio engineer Peter Rodocker takes stock of everything in loops to understand where everything might belong. When you get an exciting new set of tools, it’s tempting to use them for everything in the mixing process. Developing a basic understanding of these concepts and how to work with them in audio engineering software is a good place to start building your knowledge.ĭon’t: Try to make a mix something it isn’t. Sound engineers also manage panning (where each instrument falls in the stereo spectrum), eliminate muddiness with equalisation (EQ) and manage the effects that each performer might have applied to their instrument. Mixing music is about more than managing audio levels.

What’s the deal with these ligatures? How is it that the foundry clearly shows the presence of ligatures, but the font files do not have them? Does anyone, by any chance, have the Nexa font files with ligatures? (Of course, I’m not asking for the files themselves to be uploaded, as that’s piracy. This is also demonstrated in this demo picture. The exceptions are the Demo fonts (Light and Bold), which have a different type of fi-ligature altogether, where the hook of the ‘f’ covers up the dot of the ‘i’, as seen in the picture below. It is clear that the two glyphs are unconnected. Attached below is a screenshot from FontForge. I have downloaded the font from multiple sources, and not a single ligature is to be found in even one file or weight. Here, the bar of the ‘f’ is connected to the ‘i’, but the dot of the ‘i’ is not covered by the hook of the ‘f’.īut, out of all the samples of Nexa I have, not one of them has any ligatures, neither at the usual place (U+FB01), nor anywhere else in the file. ![]() On the one hand, the font’s display page clearly shows the presence of the fi-ligature. Nexa is a very mysterious font when it comes to ligatures.
